May 2008 Newsletter

The winner of the ½ inch Makita cordless drill was PETE GAUDETTE of Lethbridge.  The raffle was drawn on April 19th  at  JOSS TECHNICAL during one of our spring blizzards. Congratulations Pete!

The club has a new raffle started.  The prize is a 3 ½ Ton Professional Service Jack and two jack stands. The price of the tickets is $2.00 each and a maximum of 600 tickets will be sold.  This raffle will be drawn on Sunday, July 13th at the show and shine on Street Machine Weekend.  

Thanks to everyone who volunteered to work at our Casino on July 1st and 2nd.  Andy will contact you soon regarding the work schedule.

Donations continue to come in to help us buy the Motorsport Park land.   Thank you to the individuals and Companies who have been so generous.

Cars are on everyone’s mind with all the Alberta tracks opening this month, and all the show and shines happening.  So, if you don’t race ‘em you get to show them off!  There are quite a number of our members going to make the effort to be in Medicine Hat for the season opener on May 23, 24th and 25th.  Along with the regular racing, the weekend will feature Jet Cars.

The Edmonton track has got an Arm Drop (No tree) contest happening on May 30th & 31st.  For details go to:  http://www.castrolraceway.com/armdrop.html  All cars must run at least 12.5 seconds in the quarter to qualify.  Prize money is $10,000.00.  Should be a lot of fun!
