March 2008 Newsletter
The month of March started out very positive with the announcement that we have worked out the final details on purchasing the motorsport park property. Haydn Powis and Wayne Joss negotiated this deal on behalf of the club. At the present time we have applied for a Roadside Development Permit and are waiting to hear back from the Alberta Government. That could take two months or so. Once the Roadside Development Permit is approved, subdivision of the property can proceed and the land can be surveyed. After completion of the subdivision, title of the property can transfer and the purchase will be complete.
Our dates for working a Casino are July 1st and 2nd. We need 16 volunteers to cover the two shifts which are from 10 am to 7 pm and 7 pm to 3 am. Our volunteer forms need to be in by May 1st, so that Police checks can be done. Please consider helping out as this Casino should net us a considerable amount of cash that can go towards the purchase of the motorsport park property. Volunteer forms are available at Joss Technical Ltd.
The Chamber of Commerce in Fort MacLeod
invited our club to participate in their monthly meeting on March 6th. Haydn Powis and Wayne Joss did a short
presentation about the track and its benefit to the community followed by a
question and answer session. This was
very positive.
We would like to create a SADRA Member Rides Gallery on the club website. If you would like to profile your vehicle, email a photo and description to: haydn@tailwindraceway.com or contact@tailwindraceway.com.
The Coaldale Custom
Cruisers car club are having their 7th annual Show and Shine on
May 25th in Coaldale and have invited our club members to
participate. Registration takes place
from 10 am to noon and is only $10.00/car. The car show is from noon till 4
pm. This is open to all
vehicles so think about coming out for a fun afternoon.
Our next regular meeting is on April 2th at 7:30 pm at JOSS TECHNICAL LTD. 3218-12th Avenue North, Lethbridge.
